EUDY Camp 2008, Belgrade
„EQUALITY IN EDUCATION – ACHIVING EQUALITY“
20th – 28th July 2008
Republic of Serbia
The Youth section of Association of Deaf and hard of hearing of Serbia (OSGNS) and Serbian Organizing Committee are proud to announce that the European Union of Deaf Youth Camp 2008 from 20th -28th July 2008 in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia is open for registration.
The theme of the camp is: „Equality in education – achiving equality”. This theme will highlight the main issues related to Deaf education and life long learning, Deaf culture, Human rights throw sign language, leadership and advocacy, situation of Deaf Youth - especially Deaf Youth on the Balkans.
EUDY Camp participants will actively participate in all presentation, workshops and discussion groups following the plenary presentations.
Official languages of the camp are International Signs and written English.
The EUDY Camp will be held at the Camp Kosutnjak, Belgrade.
We are expecting around 110 participants from around Europe.
Do not miss this great and exciting event.

I
would like to appologize for EUDY statutes sending too late, because I
was very busy. I believe that everything will be alright, because I
presented new suggestions for EUDY statutes and every EUDY board member
accepted it to be translated for GA EUDY. I will add notes about
elections to EUDY Board into EUDY statutes.

HI!
Are YOU interested about international matters, international development assistance policy, make support to deaf youths in developing countries?
Then you should be perfect in EUDY: s new work group, "developing countries work group".
There we can expound our views. The aim of the establishment of this
work group is to keep the interest of international matters, start new
projects; we hope we can start a new project by EUDY there we give our
support to deaf youth people in developing countries. Also give our support to deaf youth organisations here in Europe to start own projects.

The
aim of the establishment of this Committee is first and foremost to
decide the age of the EUDY. The recent rumors say that EUDY should fill
25 years this year, and with this people argue that an anniversary is
necessary. But the EUDY board do not want to say anything about this
because we do not know the actually age of EUDY. We want to
investigate the history of EUDY so that we would be able to decide the
age of EUDY. The investigation would also be of special interest
because we hope we will learn something from the process of which EUDY
got established, and how the various Board members worked inside the
association, which problems they had, and how they solved it, and so
on.
With this I want to ask you whether you know about any older
members/presidents of EUDY of whom we could contact regarding
information about the past? We would like to get contact with them
especially because we need materials and documents from meetings or projects of which EUDY kept. The aim with collecting documents is to find evidence for when EUDY became created.
This is a quite hard and big work, and it caused to the idea about a
Committee for History research of EUDY.
We want to recruit people who want to make research on EUDY's past. A
knowledge about history research is preferable, but it is not a demand.
It would do well if you already know someone who has documents about
EUDY, or has been board/president. If you do, please ask this person to contact us as soon as possible! We want to get persons in our committee - more people will make us able to do yet more work faster!

The aims of the traineeship are three-fold :
- to
provide a unique training opportunity for disabled persons within the
secretariat of the European Disability Forum (EDF) and to provide the
trainee with practical experience in the development and operation of
EU disability policy and EU decision-making.
- to
provide the Trainee with hands-on/practical experience of working at EU
level with the EU institutions, in particular the European Parliament,
and with European NGOs and stakeholders.
- to
provide EDF secretariat with invaluable support and added-value that a
young disabled person can bring with his/her experience and skills.
Deadline for the submission of applications : 15 January 2008 - Start of traineeship : 15 February 2008
